Many believers in the body of Christ have been in love with the idea of Jesus but not in love with Jesus Himself. This is due to the fact that there is no true authentic relationship taking place with Jesus. So many are living a false narrative, and this has created a lack of hunger, surrender and fire. The result is a powerless church and powerless people.
You will always get what you are hungry for. What is it you desire? An idea of Jesus or Jesus Himself? A portion of him or all you can obtain? Are you hungry for the idea of revival or revival itself? Are you hungry to burn with passion for an encounter with God and His presence?
“BEHOLD, I’M STANDING AT THE DOOR, KNOCKING. IF YOUR HEART IS OPEN TO HEAR MY VOICE AND YOU OPEN THE DOOR WITHIN, I WILL COME IN TO YOU AND FEAST WITH YOU, AND YOU WILL FEAST WITH ME.” REVELATION 3:20
God is knocking. The opportunity for revival has arrived. God is calling us forward to begin creating the future.
Revival is a revealing of revelation. It’s a revealing of God in a greater magnitude of His presence. Revival is a unique, distinctive, exceptional outpouring of God’s spirit and presence. It’s where the manifested glory and presence of God which seemed intangible becomes tangible. Where anything-absolutely anything is possible! The choice is yours-are you ready and willing to step into what God wants to do?
God is looking for hearts who are ready for revival. Revival is not a question of can God do it, but rather do you want it? We will never see revival without being so fervent in prayer, in seeking and desiring all of Him that God can’t pass us by. Welsh revivalist Evan Roberts said this “A church on its knees is irresistible.” We first have to be a house of prayer to be a house of revival.
“DRAW NEAR TO GOD AND HE WILL DRAW NEAR TO YOU” JAMES 4:8
We draw near to God through prayer and being in His presence. You can draw as near to God as you desire. You control how much of God you get, not God. A move of God takes place as people start to move closer to God.
To draw near to God, we must first position ourselves through:
1. A position of repentance-right standing with God, a clean heart.
“IF MY PEOPLE WHO ARE CALLED BY MY NAME WILL HUMBLE THEMSELVES, AND PRAY AND SEE MY FACE, AND TURN FROM THEIR WICKED WAYS, THEN I WILL HEAR FROM HEAVEN, AND WILL FORGIVE THEIR SIN AND HEAL THEIR LAND.” 2 CHRONICLES 7:14
Repentance must take place to clear the way for revival. Sin is a deterrent to revival causing complacency and apathy.
2. A position of surrender-God can do more with your surrender than you can do with your control.
3. A position of discontentment- refusing to be satisfied. Willing to get uncomfortable so God can do what He wants to do.
4. A position of hunger- hunger births a desire for more of God-not being satisfied with anything else. The passion to pursue God begins with hunger for more than you have or have ever experienced.
What would happen if there would be a people-men and women, young and old, who would plant their knees on the ground stirring up themselves and the atmosphere for revival-for the releasing of God’s presence live never before? Starting today, this place will be known as a house of prayer, miracles and a house of revival!
