We are a people called out of darkness-called out of a life of sin. Separated out, carrying the authority and power given by God the creator. Having the ability to change the atmosphere of an area, a region, a state and a nation.
The church is not to remain hidden in the shadows and remain silent. But to rise up with boldness declaring the word of the Lord- which is the ultimate authority over any nation or ruling party. The church is the first line of defense for the nation. The chaos, turmoil, unrest and uncertainty we are seeing can and should be dealt with by the church. The shape of the nation that we currently see is due to a lack of passion, lack of commitment and surrender by the church. The church’s’ heart has not been set upon the things of God or His house. The church has not been seeking first the kingdom of God. It has been seeking after fleshly desires, things of this world.
“IF MY PEOPLE WHO ARE CALLED BY MY NAME WILL HUMBLE THEMSELVES, AND PRAY AND SEEK MY FACE, AND TURN FROM THEIR WICKED WAYS, THEN I WILL HEAR FROM HEAVEN, AND WILL FORGIVE THEIR SINS AND HEAL THEIR LAND.” 2 CHRONICLES 7:14
The church needs to do these four things-humble themselves, turn from their wicked ways, pray and seek God’s face. God is calling His church back to its first love-Jesus! God is calling His body to once again to have a heart for His house. Revival will never take place unless we have a burning passion, a desire, a heart for Him and His house.
God’s house has become a casual occurrence for so many because a culture of casual Christianity has penetrated the church. This has led to an absence of the fear of the Lord within the church-having a lack of respect, honor, and reverence for God and His ways. Church has turned into a social club-a check in the box for the week. It has become optional, not a priority for many.
Matthew 6:21 says “for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” So many are putting more value in things of the world-sports, events, materials, social media than the things of God. The house of God should be a priority in your house, in your life. Is church a priority in your house? Or do you allow excuses to be made?
“THIS IS NOT THE TIME TO PULL AWAY AND NEGLECT MEETING TOGETHER, AS SOME HAVE FORMED THE HABIT OF DOING. IN FACT, WE SHOULD COME TOGETHER EVEN MORE FREQUENTLY, EAGER TO ENCOURAGE AND URGE EACH OTHER ONWARD AS WE ANTICIPATE THE DAY DAWNING” HEBREWS 10:24-25
I am thankful for the church being online. But it’s not meant to be a substitute for the house of God. It’s meant for times that we can’t make it-to spread the Gospel. Online church is not meant to be a substitute for the coming together of believers. Psalm 92 says that those planted in the house of God shall flourish. Flourish means to thrive, prosper, have success. Being planted means you put roots in, you are permanent.
God’s presence and power is magnified in the church. His power and presence flow through believers, creating vessels to carry to others. You have been given a gift. Someone needs what you have. Things will change when you have a heart for the house of God.
