FRUSTRATED FAITH Part 1
Have you ever been frustrated because you are not seeing your prayers answered? We went over this “Frustrated Faith”. We have all been here and it is something we need to know and understand as believers.
Habakkuk 2:3 “For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end-it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay. (ESV)
Your vision, promise, dream, it will come in its appointed time. The vision will not lie to you, it will come to pass. BUT it is being SO slow, you may say? What does God tells us to do when this happens? He says to wait and not just wait, but patiently wait. When we want to see the reality of our prayer, sometimes God says wait. Other times, it’s for other reasons. Do not doubt, the fulfilment will come. When it does, you will be glad you waited. But when, you may ask? There is a life span to each vision, an expiration and the time of fulfillment. What is the time frame, you may ask? It is a good question; we truly do not know. Only God knows the times. So, what can we do in our seasons of waiting? Let us start with understanding where this “frustrated faith” comes into play.
Ecclesiastes 3:1, “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:”. (ESV)
Every season adds into your life and every season holds a God opportunity just for you. It is our assignment and our responsibility to engage in purpose. In each season we are going through, God is preparing us for what is ahead. For what is next, to grow us, and for us to be transformed. In each season we experience tension and pressure. Those tensions and pressures are caused from our expectation of the season we are in and our experience of the season we are in. When these two things do not line up, this is where the tension comes from. This is that frustrated faith we have all dealt with. When you’re doing all the right things and nothing is happening, this is where you are wrestling with YOUR expectation and your conviction. One of the biggest pressures we wrestle with is time. Time can be a big blessing, but it can also be a hinderance to the vision. As believers we need to live with vision and not by our sight. God wants us to do something else while we wait…
Romans 8:25, “But if we look forward to something we don’t yet have, we must wait patiently and confidently.” (ESV)
Paul tells us, wait patiently and confidently. We need to have endurance in our convictions and not get weary when we cannot see our expectation. Every season has tension and pressure. What you do and how you react to that tension and pressure dictates what you get out of that season. Your actions and reactions can also lead to prolonging your season and fulfillment of the vision. Those delays are not on God’s end but mostly ours. We can be very slow learners. Having endurance in your conviction is the key to waiting.
God doesn’t merely want you to have the blessing, he wants you to appreciate it and walk in it. The fulfillment will always come when you are in a position to receive it, when you are prepared to receive it. Galatians 6:9, “So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.” (ESV) So, have endurance in your convictions, in your vision, and in the promise, God gave you. He is working and it is our job to wait enduringly.
